Sewing projects

As well as knitting, I have always wanted to learn to sew items. My mother virtually made all my clothes when i was a child and i would really like to be able to make dresses, for myself and the grandchildren and also dolls clothes
I have a lovely sewing machine but am always too scared to actually start making something.
When I am in the Uk next time I think I will buy some patterns and fabric and start with soemthing small
If anyone out there is reading this, some help or advice would be appreciated.

Just finishing my debbie bliss eco cotton shawl, i have knitted quite a few of these shawls for friends and family and it always turns out well

Recycled Sari Yarn

I have just received my new batch of recycled sari yarn.
as we are decorating the house throughout, i have decided to knit the curtains, this sounds like a large project and i am sure that it is but i would just like to do it.
